Individual and Group Creative Writing Workshops
We offer interactive online and face–to–face workshops in which writers work closely with the workshop coordinator to explore and discuss issues relating to craft, presentation, and form. Each writer will receive detailed feedback on submitted work, along with individualized suggestions for further reading and writing prompts and exercises tailored to the work or project under consideration.
All workshops are designed in collaboration with the individual writer or group of writers, so each session is tailored to the specific needs of the writer or writers who register. The workshop sessions are designed as an ongoing dialogue between writer and workshop coordinator, so each writer can expect to receive several rounds of supportive, critical feedback after submitting work and beginning or continuing the revision process.
Online workshops consist of digital submission of writing and access to secure online discussion forums and chat sessions throughout the entire workshop period. Interactions can be scheduled or occur at the writer or group’s convenience.
Face–to–face workshops must be scheduled at least three months in advance and, if not local for the workshop coordinator, will include travel and lodging fees. Workshop coordinators will meet with writers for two to four days and will conduct the remainder of the workshop online, either before or after the face–to–face sessions, to ensure the greatest level of feedback for each writer.

Prior to registration, please confirm availability by contacting the workshop coordinator using the Contact form on this website. Because workshops are offered throughout the year, we want to make sure that the coordinator you would like to work with is available during your requested range of dates. Please input the following title in the subject header of your query: “Workshop Query: Your Last Name or Group” (i.e., Workshop Query: Pollard or Workshop Query: Group). Please include in your message the date on which you would like your workshop to begin and the duration you are interested in.
Partial workshop sessions are also available. Please let us know in your query that you are interested in a workshop of one or three weeks, and we will provide a pricing chart along with our response about availability.

During the workshop, writers can have as much or as little interaction around their writing after the initial submission as they desire. I will respond to all correspondence within 24 hours and will closely and carefully attend to submitted work within a reasonable time frame, depending on the size and scope of the particular project.
My role is to provide critical support for the creative work—and play—you are engaged in and to encourage you to risk and to enjoy to ever greater degrees while writing, whether you are an established writer looking to refine your poetry or prose or you are just beginning the writerly life and crave a thoughtful audience for your work and advice on how to move it in new directions.
